Minor planets include asteroids as well as distant minor planets (centaurs and trans-Neptunian objects), most of which reside in the Kuiper belt and the scattered disc.
38628 Huya is a binary trans-Neptunian object located in the Kuiper belt, a region of icy objects orbiting beyond Neptune in the outer Solar System. Huya was discovered on 10 March 2000 and named after the mythological figure Huya, the rain god of the Wayuu people indigenous to the Guajira Peninsula of northern Venezuela and Colombia.
Locals and visitors gathered on Saturday for the famous 'burning of Judas' tradition in Mexico City.
Footage shows preparations for the celebrations, which take place every Holy Saturday. 'Evil' effigies were constructed out of cardboard by locals, before fireworks were lit to set the giant characters ablaze.
Sun (creative energy, creative self-expression ('evil' effigies were constructed out of cardboard by locals)) conjunct Jupiter (religious) trine Huya (religious or spiritual ritual - especially of a repetitive nature, capitulation and clearing ceremonies).
Originally, the effigies were of Judas Iscariot, with believers burning the biblical figure for his betrayal of Jesus Christ. Now they are often horned devils or children's characters.
"Very nice, we are going back to our traditions, and hopefully it will continue in this way that our beautiful tradition does not end," said Josefina Juarez, another local.
According to traditional folklore, the burning of Judas symbolised the burning of the devil and evil, and has continued down the generations. Local media reports suggest the practice dates back to the 19th century.

"For us it's purely a matter of making sure that we can drive out the winter well, and the evil spirits," explained Kai Ginterseder, playing one of the Perchten. "And that's exactly what we're here for, with our devil masks, to make sure that everything is happening the way it's supposed to be."

Magic mushrooms 'promising' in depression. SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY
A hallucinogenid chemical in magic mushrooms shows promise for people with untreatable depression, a short study on just 12 people hints.
Pallas (healing (eight patients were no longer depressed after the "mystical and spiritual" experience induced by the drug)) trine Hades (depressing emotions (nine of the patients had at least severe depression)). Vesta (health, integration) trine Logos (sense of one's connection to all that Is) opposite Huya (- fretful, worrying and obsessive, + focused, attentive).
Eight patients were no longer depressed after the "mystical and spiritual" experience induced by the drug. The findings, in the Lancet Psychiatry, showed five of the patients were still depression-free after three months.
Dr Robin Carhart-Harris, one of the researchers, said: "These experiences with psilocybin can be incredibly profound, sometimes people have what they describe as mystical or spiritual-type experiences."
2000 EB173/38628 Huya is a binary trans-Neptunian object located in the Kuiper belt, a region of icy objects orbiting beyond Neptune in the outer Solar System. Huya is classified as a plutino, a dynamical class of trans-Neptunian objects with orbits in a 3:2 orbital resonance with Neptune. It was discovered by the Quasar Equatorial Survey Team and was identified by Venezuelan astronomer Ignacio Ferrin in March 2000. It is named after Juya, the mythological rain god of the Wayuu people native to South America.
Huya has one known natural satellite, designated S/2012 (38628) 1. The satellite is relatively large compared to Huya and is expected to have slowed its rotation, although measurements of Huya's brightness variations have indicated that Huya's rotation may not be synchronous with the satellite's orbit.
