Morrison told Parliament on Thursday that 378.6 million Australian dollars ($279.97m) would be allocated to redress the human damage of the policy, including one-off payments of 75,000 Australian dollars ($55,462.50) for its victims.

"This is a long called-for step, recognising the bond between healing, dignity and the health and wellbeing of members of the Stolen Generations, their families and their communities," the prime minister told Parliament.

Waorani people of Ecuador's Amazon launch lawsuit to protect their Ancestral Lands from oil auction. Photograph amazonfrontlines.org

On February 27, hundreds of Indigenous Waorani elders, youth and leaders arrived in the city of Puyo, Ecuador. They left their homes deep in the Amazon rainforest to peacefully march through the streets, hold banners, sing songs and, most importantly, submit documents to the provincial Judicial Council to launch a lawsuit seeking to stop the government from auctioning off their ancestral lands in the Pastaza region to oil companies.

Italian 'noblemen & commoners' beat the pulp out of each other in annual Battle of Oranges. Miguel Medina AFP

Residents of the Italian town of Ivrea donned battle armor and armed themselves to the teeth with juicy oranges for this year's "Battle of the Oranges." Sunday's symbolic rebellion takes place every year.

Sun (honor, entertainment, Sunday) sextile Eris (battles, disputes, fightings (in the mock battle the participants are split into groups of noblemen and commoners)) trine Chaos (disorder, tumult, uproar). Neptune (imagination, inspiration) conjunct Teharonhiawako (anything carrying the theme "All My Relations" (reenactment celebrating a local legend about the townsfolk rising up against a medieval tyrant)). Orcus (*heavy or strong retaliation (the legend goes that the tyrant tried to rape a miller's daughter)) square Mars (combativeness (don medieval attire to fight it out in a pulpy battle)).

The festival saw locals and tourists bombard each other with thousands of oranges in a reenactment celebrating a local legend about the townsfolk rising up against a medieval tyrant. The legend goes that the tyrant tried to rape a miller's daughter but she decapitated him and led an uprising which freed the town.

Around 500 tons of Sicilian oranges are shipped to the town in northwestern Italy for the epic showdown. The festival is the largest food fight in Italy and indeed one of the largest in Europe. However it does fall behind Spain's La Tomatina which usually draws crowds in excess of 20,000.

This beer fills from the bottom. Photo: Josh Springer

GrinOn Industries CEO, Josh Springer is the inventor and founder of Bottoms Up Draft Beer Dispensing System; the first-ever draft beer dispenser that fills beverages through the bottom of the cup.

Sun (ambition, chief ambitions) trine Teharonhiawako (inspires innovative ideas, quirky). Ceres (productivity, efficient functioning) trine Pholus (food, alcohol (set out to revolutionize the beer dispensing industry)).

The idea came to him in a day dream in early 2008 on the west coast in Washington State. Just four days later he had a functioning prototype in his garage and the rest is history. The system immediately started selling itself and so he began GrinOn Industries; the name coming from the fact that Josh always has a smile on his face

Discovery

2001 QT297/88611 Teharonhiawako is a trans-Neptunian object and a member of the Kuiper belt, measuring 156-196 km in diameter. It is a binary object, with a large companion named Sawiskera which at 108-136 km in diameter is about two-thirds the size of its primary.

Teharonhiawako was discovered on August 20, 2001, by the Deep Ecliptic Survey, and Sawiskera was identified a month later. The primary is named after Teharonhia:wako, a god of maize in the Iroquois creation myth, while the secondary is named after his evil twin brother Sawiskera. The objects were named in 2007.

Much of the mythology of the Iroquois (a confederacy of originally Five, later Six Nations of Native Americans) has been lost. Some of their religious stories have been preserved, including creation stories and some folktales. Written down later, the spellings of names differed, and different versions of many stories exist reflecting both different localities and different times. It is possible that the versions that were recorded were influenced by Christianity.

Each village had its own storyteller who was responsible for learning all the stories by heart. No stories were ever told during the summer months. Violations would be punished by the Jo-ga-oh, and if the violator ignored the warning he would suffer greater evils.
